Being a Maywood Maker, I'm part of an elite team of 12 talented makers who have been chosen by Maywood Studio to create designs such as quilts and bags using their fabric collections. Read on to see a few of the projects we have worked on this year.Visit Maywood Studio Blog
Our warm-up project was to create a quilt block using the Sunshowers fabric collection and a letter from "Maywood Maker". My letter "A" represents the word "Attitude" because having a positive attitude helps one in all aspects of life.

Our first Maywood Maker project was to create a mini quilt under the theme, Welcome To Our Garden. I chose a story to tell with my quilt, one of how an endearing strawberry plant came to fruition and ended up as a delicious pie! We used Kimberbell's Vintage Flora Collection to create our quilts. These were featured at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show in Sisters, OR, July 2023. This was my first quilt in a quilt show, and I'm so honored I got to be a part of it!See all the Maywood Maker Quilts here
For this Maywood Maker challenge, we worked with precuts that use the latest Maywood Studio fall and winter themed collections. I chose to use a charm pack of the Autumn Harvest Flannel Collection to create a tote, and a fat quarter bundle of the Christmas Night Collection to create a quilted pillow and zipper pouches.See the Parade!
My last project was to create a 12 1/2" block featuring a star shape.
As a bagmaker, I wanted to challenge myself to create my own Star block. After lots of calculations, and trial and error in creating the correct size pinwheel and HST's, I came up with this block. It's the perfect representation of my journey with Maywood Studio this year. I was so surprised I was chosen, as I'm not as experienced a quilter as my other lovely Maywood Maker counterparts. But I have risen to each challenge, and as our last project comes to an end, this whirlwind journey has made me feel like a shining star.
This block is part of the Star Maker Sampler Quilt shown at Quilt Market in the Fall of 2023.Read More
