This is the sample made while writing the Kathy Tote pattern — every photo in the pattern instructions was taken as this very bag was assembled, stitch by stitch. It went on to be used as the example bag for many Kathy Tote classes, so it’s truly been part of the journey from the very beginning. Now it’s ready to find a home with someone who’ll love it as much as it was loved to make.
Made from a soft blush floral cotton with a solid blush pink top panel and cream quilted handles — feminine, structured, and roomy enough to carry everything you need for a full day out.

this pattern was very well written and easy to follow. Since purchasing last week I have made 4 Joanne tote bags!
This was a fun and quick little project. I even found unique fabric for the stripes: the white has the words to The Star Spangled Banner printed on it (also in white so only faintly visible) and the red has pinwheels on it!
It solved my baggy linings and explained the different interfacings. Love it!
